Easton is back! This time with their new, 2023 USSSA Baseball Bats. In this writeup we will be breaking down which bats will be in the USSSA lineup, what sizes are available for each, and what each one’s manufacturing build looks like (What materials are used in each bat and the technological structure of each).

2023 USSSA Hype Comp Baseball Bat:

The 2023 Easton Hype Comp USSSA Baseball Bat (short for composite) has been meticulously engineered from every feature it boasts to deliver EXPLOSIVE performance at the plate as soon as it's out of the wrapper. From knob to end-cap, the Easton Hype Comp is built to give you the highest-performing composite USSSA Baseball Bat you'll find anywhere. Now, if you have heard of Easton’s Thermo Composite Technology for their barrel design from last year's Hype, you will be familiar with just how well it performs and the pop it provides. If you’re not familiar, Easton’s Thermo Composite Barrel Technology creates an extremely large sweet spot utilizing the lightest material possible. The result maximizes both your bat speed and explosiveness on contact. This barrel design runs from the end cap to the handle connection point covering the entire area of the barrel, giving you the largest overall sweet spot of the barrel.

At the connection point we find the all popular ‘ConneXion Max’ Connection piece. This connection piece, due to its stiffness, provides a near 100% total energy transfer from handle to barrel. To summarize, EVERY ounce of power you have in your swing, from the start of your swing to when you make contact with the ball and even on your follow through, is transferred into the barrel providing a strong, stiff feel on contact. Easton also incorporated “Nitrocell” foam into the connection piece to dramatically reduce handle vibration. Moving down the line to the handle we have what Easton calls their “Pro-Stiff” Carbon Handle. The Pro-stiff Carbon Handle is designed with extra stiff carbon fibers allowing minimal flexibility and maximum rigidity and stiffness. Finally getting around to the handle, Easton’s handle design known as the “Power Boost” Soft Knob Technology, provides hitters with added leverage all while reducing overall vibration as well as providing a soft, cushiony feel for that bottom hand that's resting on the knob. 2023 Easton Encore Hybrid USSSA Baseball Bat:

The 2023 Easton Encore Hybrid USSSA Baseball Bat is the total combination of all of Easton’s most popular features as well as some cutting edge technology combined into one bat. The resulting design in a 2-piece hybrid bat is one that will make you a force to be reckoned with when up to the plate. The unique ‘Ping” alone from the combined alloy and thermo composite barrel will echo throughout the stands and turn heads with every hit.

Starting out with the Barrel construction and design, Easton has engineered a unique combination of their widely popular R5 Alloy Barrel technology, then decided to thin it out by 30%. To reinforce that lost material, Easton internally reinforced and backed that alloy with their Thermo Composite Technology through the whole length of the barrel, from end cap all the way down to the handle where the connection piece is. This thinning out of the alloy and reinforcing it with their thermo composite material has created an ultra-thin barrel wall, a larger sweet spot as well as maximizing the trampoline effect you will get when hitting a ball, all while keeping up with the standard performance and durability everyone looks for. The PureLynk CXN joint, which is the main connection point from barrel to handle, maximizes the energy transfer of a player's swing as well as providing a very stiff feel for the player all the way through the ‘Pro-Stiff’ carbon handle. Speaking of the Pro-Stiff Carbon Handle, as stated on the Hype Comp, it is designed with extra stiff carbon fibers providing minimal flexibility and maximum rigidity and stiffness. Again, stated prior, Easton’s “Power Boost” Soft Knob Technology provides hitters with added leverage all while reducing overall vibration as well as providing a soft, cushiony feel for that bottom hand.

All of these features add up to a bat that will provide a stiff, comfortable feel when swinging, capturing as much energy as you can produce while efficiently transferring it to the baseball. 2023 Easton Alpha ALX USSSA Baseball Bat:

Rounding third coming in on the home stretch is Easton’s 2023 Alpha ALX USSSA Baseball Bat. This 1-Piece alloy bat is built using the R5 Alloy material, which was stated above for the Encore Hybrid. Easton’s R5 Alloy design, used amongst other Alloy barrel designs, is a lightweight, high-performing alloy giving the bat amazing responsiveness as well as excellent durability and longevity, not to mention that high noted “PING” sound we all love to hear as a baseball flies off the barrel. In combination with the R5 alloy, Easton added their Flywall Barrel design which features a ringless engineering process creating an extremely large sweet spot as well as a contact feel that’s smoother than butter in a pan. The “ping” sound this bat makes on contact will have everyone's heads turn and put you on the watchlist every time you step up to the plate.
